HIP DISARTICULATION PROSTHESIS (ARTIFICIAL FULL LEG)
Disability is a global issue and a significant public health problem. World Health Organization estimates a 15% of prevalence disability globally, with the majority of persons with disability (PWD) living in developing countries.
Persons with lower limb disability require assistive devices in the form of orthoses and prostheses, without which they face activity limitations, participation restrictions, and can poorer health and quality of life.
A Hip Disarticulation Prosthesis (HDP) is an artificial limb that replaces any amputated limb through hip joint. It is utilized for amputations or congenital absences of the complete leg involving the foot, ankle, shin and thigh at the hip joint level.
