ANKLE FOOT ORTHOSIS (BELOW THE FOOT SUPPORT)
Disability is a global issue and a significant public health problem. World Health Organization estimates a 15% of prevalence disability globally, with the majority of persons with disability (PWD) living in developing countries.
Persons with lower limb disability require assistive devices in the form of orthoses and prostheses, without which they face activity limitations, participation restrictions, and can poorer health and quality of life.
An Ankle Foot Orthosis (AFO) is a device (usually plastic) used to control position and motion of the ankle in patient with weakness, or to correct ankle deformities.
