SHOULDER DISARTICULATION PROSTHESIS (FULL ARTIFICIAL LIMB)
Disability is a global issue and a significant public health problem. World Health Organization estimates a 15% of prevalence disability globally, with the majority of persons with disability (PWD) living in developing countries.
Persons with lower limb disability require assistive devices in the form of orthoses and prostheses, without which they face activity limitations, participation restrictions, and can poorer health and quality of life.
A Shoulder Disarticulation Prosthesis (SDP) is an artificial upper limb that replaces amputated limb at shoulder level. It is utilized for amputations or congenital absences of the complete arm involving the hand, forearm, elbow and upper arm through the shoulder joint.
